SolarActive

The SolarActive water heating system collects direct solar energy either through effective flat plate collectors for basic water heating use or U-Tube collectors for special high temperature water heating requirements.  SolarActive works as part of a flexible system of water heating components working together to provide best of efficiency and value.

Active Solar Water Heaters

Our SolarActive Water Heaters harness the sun's energy to provide hot water.  This system can drastically reduce your water heater operational costs, saving you money.  SolarActive flat solar collector panels are especially suited for the Philippines' tropical sunlight.

Worldbex 2009

The Philippine World Building and Construction Exposition 2009 (Worldbex) is Asia's biggest and most attended construction exposition.  It features world class products, services and technology classified as building materials, services and equipment, interior design and renovation, mechanical and electrical engineering systems, security and fire equipment, trade publications and information technology and telecommunications.

Heating, Mechanical, Electrical Design: Towards Energy Conservation

Cebu is one of the country's fastest growing provinces in the south.  It continues to prove itself in terms of economic growth, development and modernization.  With a relatively new branch in Mandaue City, Amici Mercantile Inc. chose to have their first out of town seminar in the country's Queen City of the South.

Shangri-la EDSA

Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts is the largest Asian-based deluxe hotel group.  It has chains in Singapore, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Currently, they are applying a solar-heat pump hot water heating system in Shangri-la Edsa to reduce hot water operating cost.

How much savings can I expect from solar water heaters?

Solar energy is free.  However, it is not available 24 hours a day.  Thus, a solar water heating system should normally require a backup heating system.  The most common backup used in the market are electric storage water heaters.

Solar energy can be maximized for water heating use by providing enough collector panels and large enough hot water storage.  With limited roof or surface area dedicated to solar panels, this solution is not usually practical.

Mechanism

There are two types of solar water heating mechanism:

Solar-Heat Pump System

The performance of the Solar-heat pump water heating system in Shangri-la Edsa is excellent. It is not free as pure solar energy. It never is. But using heat pump as backup, it's as close to free as it gets. Operating cost is reduced by more than 80%.  Now all steam boilers of Shangri-la Edsa are scheduled to be shut down, except for a small capacity to serve steam and high temperature requirements for kitchen and laundry.
