Solar Water Heaters

Solar thermal water heaters leverage Philippines' abundant solar energy to provide hot water while letting you save pesos in operating costs.  Solar thermal water heaters are more efficient than photovoltaic solar electric systems for producing hot water.  Heat is transferred from the sun's rays to the water, without intermediary chemical or electrical processes.

For maximum efficiency, we have both flat collectors and high-temperature evacuated tube collectors.  For residential use, flat collectors are ideal for our climate.  They are more durable and can provide about the same hot water volume as vacuum tube collectors.  Vacuum tube collectors are very common for low cost solar heating, but they are very easily damaged.  However, because they can reach and maintain higher temperatures, they are preferred for industrial and commercial use requiring temperature above 60ºC.

For maximum savings, we offer larger tank sizes and flexible backup heating systems (electric, gas-fired, heat pump).  Larger tank sizes allow us to save all the hot water our collectors can produce throughout the day.  Coupling solar thermal systems with extra-high efficiency gas-fired and heat pump water heaters ensures dramatic savings in operational cost.

For better flexibility, we offer both roof top installation and balcony-hung installations suitable for residential condominiums with premium roof space.  For small volume requirements, passive thermosiphon systems work well with both collectors and tanks on the roof.  Active solar heating systems using pumps and controls work well with building constraints and architecture.  Tanks or calorifiers can be hidden in the basement while heat is collected on the roof top.
