Amici - Thermovar First Invitational Sportsfest Awards Night


On the 15th of November, 2011, the AWARDS NIGHT for the Amici-Thermovar First Invitational Sportsfest was held at One Esplanade. Attended by twenty-five (25) companies from the construction industry, this momentous event aimed to foster camaraderie and partnership with and amongst all companies involved.

Starting with the exhilarating audio visual presentation of the Amici-Thermovar Sportsfest showcasing the highlights of the sportsfest, it had the audience clapping whenever their teams were featured. The inspiring Opening Remarks was given by the General Manager of Amici and Thermovar, Mr. Alexander C. Yao. This was immediately followed by the presentation of the Plaque of Participation per company, where each representative of the players went up the stage to receive a token trophy from the representatives of Amici, Thermovar, WaveTech, Nouvac and Transflow as their company monikers were called. Then the tournament awards were presented to the respective tournament winners.

For the awards proper, the winners for the Badminton Tournament are: 3rd runner up goes to TCGI Patriots, 2nd runner up goes to RSG Engineers, 1st runner up goes to Hotel Sogo All Stars, and the Champion is Beta Blazers. For the individual basketball winners, we have the following for the Mythical 5: Harris Guasis (Hotel Sogo All Stars), Jeardy Cabador (JSR Pascals), Aron Hambre (Integrated Innovator the Achievers), Mark Reposo (Citi Aire Lions) and Neil Labao (Integrated Innovator the Achievers). Sportsmanship Award was given to Vicmar Calaud (Citi Aire Lions). The Tournament Most Valuable Player is Aron Hambre (Integrated Innovator the Achievers) and the Finals Most Valuable Player is John Cabrera (Hotel Sogo All Stars). The basketball tournament division winners are: Division A Champion is APEC Cardinals, Division B Champion is Megawide Excellence, Division C Champion is Hotel Sogo All Stars, Division C Champion is JSR Pascals. Basketball 2nd runner up award goes to APEC Cardinals, 1st runner up is Citiaire Lions and the Champion is the Hotel Sogo All Stars.

The entertainment for the night was by Michelle O'bombshell whose stimulating performance had the audience amused with her witty jokes. We also had Ate Gay as our entertainer right after the awarding for Badminton. Ate Gay's clever humour had the audience laughing and wanting more. We also had The Movers, our boys from Thermovar. For the final entertainment, we had SOLIDVIBE who performed with some of the audiences on stage.

The night was capped off by a simple but sweet Closing Remarks from Ms. Michelle Miraflor with the teaser of enjoining the participants to “future events” of the company.
